About FFBF

Our Mission

Faithful Forgotten Best Friends  is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization built on all volunteers; we don’t have any paid personnel. We are focused on improving the quality of life for the pets of Franklin County’s underserved and vulnerable (homeless, senior citizens, veterans, etc.) who meet our low income guidelines. We educate their owners and provide pet food, basic wellness veterinary care (e.g. vaccinations, microchipping, heartworm/flea preventative, and other minor procedures that can be performed in a clinic setting), and assistance with spay and neuter of their pets.

When we started this organization, we were the only non-profit in the Midwest that was focusing on this need. Now it is our hope that our program will continue to be a gold standard that other organizations compare themselves against.

Who We Help

We help people who live in tents (in heatwaves and snowstorms) because local shelters don’t allow pets. We help people who walk 70 miles (one way) for a job interview hoping to, finally, rent a home in a safe neighborhood. We help people who have no one when their car breaks down, and they can’t get to work. Once they lose their jobs, they lose their homes. Then employers turn them down because they have nowhere to shower. And, we help them all because no matter how many times our clients are knocked down, they love and put their pets first.

Why We Help

We help because, no matter how hard their day-to-day life is, our clients wrap their pets in extra blankets when it’s cold (often giving up their own). We help because our clients sometimes walk for hours to get the free veterinary care we provide. We help because our clients’ pets deserve nourishing food, treats to get through stormy nights, and leashes and harnesses to keep them safe. We help, because no matter who has forgotten the people we serve, we see the unconditional love, happy tail wags, and powerful bond between our clients and their pets.

How We Help

We help our clients, every week, by providing wellness exams, vaccines, microchipping, and education, so their dogs and cats stay healthy while they try to build better lives for themselves. We help when our clients’ pets are injured or sick, so the one friend they have left isn’t suffering.  We help by transporting and organizing food, donated items, and medical supplies so when our clients reach out, we’re there with whatever they need. We help by distributing food to pets who need it most, giving the people who love them the peace of mind they deserve.
